Who I am
LMH Tuition is operated by Louise Mac Manus-Hunter, providing private tuition and academic support to students & families.
For the purposes of UK data protection law, I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website and in connection with my tutoring services.
Information I collect
When you contact me or use my tutoring services, I may collect:
your name and contact details
the student’s name, age or school year group
information about the student’s education, subjects, examinations & academic support needs
information you provide through my enquiry form, by email or during discussions about tuition
records relating to tuition arrangements, lessons, communications & payments
How I use your information
I use personal information only where necessary to provide & manage my tutoring services. This may include:
responding to enquiries and discussing a student’s tuition needs
arranging & delivering tuition
tailoring lessons & academic support to the individual student
communicating with parents, guardians & students about tuition
managing bookings, payments & administrative records
meeting my legal, safeguarding & professional obligations
Legal basis for using your information
Under UK data law, I need a lawful basis for processing personal information. Depending on the cirumstances I may process information because:
it is necessary to respond to your enquiry or to provide the tutoring services you have requested
it is necessary for my legitimate interests in operating and administering my tutoring business
I need to comply with a legal or safeguarding obligation
you have given consent, where consent is the appropriate legal basis
Sharing your information
I do not sell or rent personal information. I may share information with trusted service providers where this is necessary to operate my tutoring business, for example providers used for email, online lessons, file storage, website hosting or payment administration.
Where third party services are used I take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and to ensure that personal information is handled appropriately.
I may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary for safeguarding purposes.
How long I keep information
I keep personal information only for as long as it is reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing tuition, maintaining appropriate business records and meeting any legal, accounting or safeguarding requirements.
When information is no longer required, I will delete or securely dispose of it.
Keeping your information secure
I take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure.
Personal information is stored using appropriate password-protected and secure systems and access is limited to what is necessary for the provision and administration of tuition.
Your data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights in relation to your personal information. Depending on the circumstances these may include the right to:
ask for a copy of the personal information that I hold about you
ask me to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
ask me to delete your personal information
ask me to restrict how your information is used
object to certain uses of your information
withdraw consent where I rely on consent to process your information
